Alex D. Hall
Alex D. Hall is a painter working and living in Salt Lake City. A Utah native, he was born in 1987 and grew up in Rose Park. He is from a Dutch family and is inspired by many of the classic Dutch painters such as Vincent van Gogh, Rembrandt, and even his great uncle Jozef Smit.
Alex’s interest in art began at a very early age, winning a school wide contest in 5th grade resulting in Alex’s original design being printed on Tshirts that were sold to benefit the school. His love of drawing and painting never faded and he began to focus on his professional art career in 2010. He has worked with many different genres of art including abstract, realism, and graffiti. The subject matter of Alex’s work varies from enlightening to quite dark. Alex is a self-taught artist and counts Salvador Dali, street art, and life itself as his other major influences.
His work has been displayed at Este Pizzeria, the Twilight Concert Series, the DayRiverside Library, Nostalgia Café and Gallery, Pizza Studio, the Urban Arts Festival 2014, the Urban Arts Gallery in downtown Salt Lake City, and Galeria Avila in Cancun, Mexico. He has also had pieces accepted to Salt Lake Community College’s President’s Art Show in both 2013 and 2014.
